A Connecting Group is a small group of people that meets together regularly for sharing life together, for encouragement and accountability, for study and prayer, and occasionally for food and drink! Connecting Groups are a place for us to wrestle with connecting our faith to our lives so that we may apply the Bible to our particular circumstances. They are a place for us to learn more about the person and work of Jesus Christ. And they are a place that people can encourage each other toward living a life of faith in Christ.
At Emmanuel Bible Church’s Connecting Groups, we are attempting to build a community of shared values, shared mission, and shared life in Christ. Each group is unique because the particular people who attend shape it. However, the groups share a common value that the Christian life is meant to be lived in community. The God of the Bible is a God who is one, but also three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God’s very nature is an example of community. And because Christ has formed us in God’s image, we are also to be living in community so that we can share with each other all the complexities of our lives.
If you attend Emmanuel Bible Church, you should join one of our Connecting Groups!
The easiest way to do this is to look at the list below of the Connecting Groups we have available, and contact one of the leaders and let them know of your interest. You can join a Connecting Group at any time, and any group would be glad to welcome you! Our groups are hosted at a variety of times in a variety of locations throughout the Seattle area. And we also want to build more Connecting Groups in the future.
If you’d like to start a Connecting Group in your area, please contact the EBC office at office@ebcseattle.org.
