There is one Sunday service at 10:00 AM. We meet at the Emmanuel Bible Church building on 50th and Dayton. Directions are available here.
Emmanuel Bible Church is a non-denominational church. We hold a very high view of the Bible and every Sunday we will read the scriptures to understand what the Lord is saying to us. We believe the Bible is relevant to the changing needs of all people, and our sermons are always based in the scriptures. We also hold a high view of God’s sovereignty, and recognize the importance of having Jesus at the center of our church and our lives. Our church also places a high value on Connecting Groups as a way of building Christ-centered relationships for the purpose of prayer, fellowship, and encouragement.
Wear what makes you comfortable; please feel free to dress casually. Pastor Darren will only wear a tie on Easter and possibly Christmas to make him easier to look at on those days. But we care immensely more that you are with us than with what you wear.
The Sunday services are roughly an hour and a half.
Our worship style is a mix of contemporary and traditional worship music. If you don’t know the songs, don’t worry; you’re probably not alone!
Our services begin with several songs followed by the morning message from the pastor. After the message we have another song or two, then dismiss for a time of fellowship and coffee/snacks provided for everyone. We encourage people to hang out and enjoy connecting to the Church. Once a month we also have communion during our worship service. We invite anyone to take communion with us, but you do not need to feel like you have to if you are unsure of why or what we’re doing.
Yes. We will make you stand up and tell us what you really think about the church.
No, we’re kidding! You will not be singled out. You are our guest, and we do not want you to feel embarrassed in any way. Many of our regular attendees will probably say hello to you (we are a friendly church), but you have our permission to “sneak in and sneak out” if you’d like. Every now and then we have a nametag Sunday. But we require everyone to wear nametags then so you will not be singled out. Please note that there is an offering taken during the service which is an opportunity for the regular EBC attendees to support the work of the church. Do not feel obligated to give. You may fill out a registration card and put it in the offering plate if you choose to do so in order to let us know about yourself, but we want you be our guest and not feel any pressure.
We have children’s ministry available at our service for nursery through the 3rd grade. Nursery and Toddlers can be checked into their classroom before the service and picked up after the service is over. Other children are dismissed after our singing to go to Sunday School classes.
Unfortunately, no. Most of our church is made up of younger people and families (25-40), so we do not have a lot of preteen or teenagers right now. However, our messages on Sunday are applicable to teenagers to hear and learn from.
